No, this isn’t an AWE (altered world event) from Remedy’s third-person, Sci-Fi adventure game Control. Beloved console maker Nintendo is venturing a little further into cloud gaming.
In an Oct. 28 Nintendo Direct presentation, the game maker announced that Hitman 3 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming, while the Cloud version of Control: Ultimate Edition is available now.
Before purchasing Control, Switch owners will have to download a test app to ensure that their internet connection is fast enough and stable enough to deliver a playable and enjoyable experience. If you’re good to go, you’ll be allowed to access the cloud version of the game for a yet-to-be-disclosed monthly fee.
While not yet confirmed, it would seem that a similar approach to validating internet requirements will be taken before being able to access Hitman 3. No release date was given for the launch of the cloud version of the game, but Hitman 3 is expected to release on Jan. 20, 2021.
It has been an especially interesting string of weeks for cloud gaming recently, even more so with Nintendo wading deeper into the warm alluring waters of cloud gaming.
News of Nintendo’s latest cloud gaming ventures follows that of Facebook blending the social network’s HTML5 games with its casual cloud games; news itself that came hot on the hills of Amazon’s pulling Luna out of stealth mode and into public view with its early access period.
